Basumati Corporation Limited made a very humble beginning by installing 3 number of Computers in the year 1990 in DTP Section. Such installation of Computers attracted new clients and the Corporation undertook Printing of Colourful Journals, Magazines, Posters, Pamphlets, Maps, etc. However, with the advancement of technology, the urgency and necessity of modernisation was felt. Accordingly, the Corporation prepared an ambitious plan of modernisation and computerisation. Moreover, the number of clients grew in geometrical progression and this necessitated the demand for augmentation of computerisation.

Accordingly, last year with Plan Fund Load the Corporation installed six new Computers of the latest generation in DTP Section along with one 5000 Laser Jet Printer and one Scanner of A3 size for Scanning job. The Corporation also installed one Ink jet Printer for colour output from Scanning Machine. As such, the Corporation is now in a position to undertake in-house Scanning and in-house colour separation which is required for coloured Covers, Magazines, Maps, Folders etc. of the latest design. The Corporation has also installed LAN System (Local Area Network) in office with 4 terminals and 1 Server to computerise the total accounting work along with Job Accounting, Advertisement Accounting, etc. It would help it in maintaining up-to-date records of all accounting information and would help in accounting management, information management system and overall control and supervision in respect of the progress of work in different sectors from the server and terminals.

Such installation has also made employees of this Corporation computer-friendly and modernised their outlook to work in a computer-friendly environment.

With this advancement in technology and transformation into computer-friendly environment the Corporation has been seriously contemplating to get Internet connection both in Kolkata and at Siliguri and also to form Web-site. This will help to transmit reports, advertisement matters, pictures, etc. through Internet with the purpose of achieving operational efficiency and economy.

As such, the Corporation modestly expect to usher in to an era of information technology in accordance with the latest demands.
