Film Worker's Welfare Fund

The Government of West Bengal crated a Film Workers' Welfare Fund on July 20, 1981.

It was the first time that a State Government had created such a fund for the welfare of the distressed film workers. Since then, a Board of management constituted with members from Film, Technicians, Distributors, Producers have been ably looking after the welfare of the film workers.

Government has allotted a grant of Rs. 16,68,500 up-to-date since inception of this fund and it has also raised a fund of Rs. 9,84,370 which means a total fund of Rs. 26,52,870 is accumulated. From the above noted fund a sum of Rs. 20,89,083 has been granted to distressed film technicians and workers of West Bengal until December, 2000.

One may contribute to this Fund by drawing account payee cheque in favour of : "Film Workers' Welfare Fund" and send it to the Member Secretary Film Wing, I & C A Department, 72 Deshapran Shashmal Road, Kolkata-33.
